J.R.R. Tolkien's books The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings have long enjoyed a large and devoted following. The release of Peter Jackson's masterpiece films in December 2001 and 2002 delighted these long-time 'Lordaholics' and spread the fever to a huge new audience.

The result was the rapid growth of a lively online community. Overflowing enthusiasm found outlet in a sustained burst of the most amazing creativity: poetry by the ream, the famous Stupid Ring Parody, the ongoing Burping Troll Adventures, stories, websites and more.

Westmarch.net was created as a showcase for some of this great outpouring. Here you will find poetry drawn from the Pony, the Parody and the Troll; stories set in Tolkien's world; essays on related subjects; as well as links to sites where you can find still more great reading.

So come on in -look around- browse the stacks, put your feet up and read to your heart's content.
